Lupinus ‘Red Shades’ – 2026

Lupinus ‘Red Shades’ is a striking perennial that produces tall, stately flower spikes in a range of red tones, from deep crimson to softer rosy hues. These bold, upright blooms rise above attractive palmate green foliage, bringing strong vertical interest and vibrant colour to borders and cottage garden schemes. The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, making this variety as valuable for wildlife as it is for its ornamental display.

Best grown in well-drained, moderately fertile soils, this cultivar thrives in sunny positions but will tolerate partial shade. Flowering in early to midsummer, ‘Red Shades’ provides weeks of vivid colour and architectural beauty with minimal care. Hardy and reliable, it is a superb choice for gardeners wishing to add long-lasting seasonal drama to their outdoor spaces.
