Convallaria majalis ‘Prolificans’ – 2026

Convallaria majalis ‘Prolificans’ is a double-flowered cultivar of the classic Lily of the Valley, prized for its dense clusters of fragrant, bell-shaped white flowers. The blooms are borne on arching stems above deep green, lance-shaped leaves, creating a lush and elegant ground cover. This cultivar is noted for its prolific flowering, providing a more substantial floral display compared to the species. ‘Prolificans’ is suitable for shaded or woodland gardens, where it can naturalize and spread over time.

This cultivar thrives in moist, well-drained soils and prefers partial to full shade. It is well-suited for woodland gardens, shaded borders, or areas under trees. The plant spreads via rhizomes, forming dense colonies that can effectively suppress weeds. Regular watering is essential, especially during dry periods, to maintain its vigorous growth. With its vibrant flowers and attractive foliage, ‘Prolificans’ adds both beauty and ecological value to the garden.
