Papaver orientale ‘White Ruffles’ – 2026

Papaver orientale White Ruffles is a beautiful oriental poppy, prized for its large, pure white, double ruffled blooms with a subtle dark central blotch. The abundant, frilled petals rise on sturdy, upright stems above coarse, hairy green foliage, creating an elegant and eye-catching display in early summer borders. Its clean, bright colour and textured flowers bring charm and sophistication to cottage gardens, mixed perennial beds, and smaller planting schemes.

This hardy perennial thrives in well-drained soil and prefers a sunny position, returning reliably year after year. Fully suited to the UK climate, it requires minimal maintenance beyond cutting back after flowering to encourage fresh foliage. Its nectar-rich blooms attract pollinators, adding ecological value, while the long-lasting flowers provide both ornamental and seasonal appeal. Papaver orientale White Ruffles combines elegance, resilience, and abundant summer colour, making it a dependable addition to any garden.
