Aconitum napellus ‘Schneewittchen’ – 2026

Aconitum napellus ‘Schneewittchen’ is a refined variety of monkshood admired for its tall spikes of pure white, helmet-shaped flowers that bloom in mid to late summer. Its elegant blooms rise above finely divided, dark green foliage, creating a striking vertical accent in borders or shaded areas. This perennial adds a touch of sophistication and contrast when paired with deeper-coloured perennials, while also providing late summer interest in traditional and cottage-style gardens.

Thriving in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, Aconitum napellus ‘Schneewittchen’ prefers partial shade but can tolerate full sun in cooler climates. Once established, it requires minimal maintenance and is long-lived, offering consistent seasonal beauty. The flowers attract pollinators such as bees, adding ecological value. As with all monkshoods, it is highly toxic and should be handled with care.
