Actaea racemosa Cimicifuga – 2026

Actaea racemosa, also known as Cimicifuga or black cohosh, is an imposing perennial valued for its tall, stately growth and finely divided green foliage. From midsummer into early autumn, soaring spires of fragrant, fluffy white flowers rise dramatically above the leaves, creating an elegant and architectural feature. The blooms are attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, ensuring it plays a role in supporting biodiversity late in the season.

Thriving in moist, humus-rich soil and partial shade, Actaea racemosa is well suited to woodland gardens, shaded borders, or damp, sheltered positions where its tall form can make a strong statement. Its combination of bold stature, extended flowering, and ecological value makes it a distinguished and reliable choice for adding late-season impact to planting schemes.
