Allium senescens – 2026

Allium senescens is a clump-forming ornamental onion valued for its striking, globular umbels of pink to purple flowers held above fine, grassy foliage. Blooming in early to mid-summer, the flowers attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, enhancing garden biodiversity. Its compact and hardy nature makes it ideal for rock gardens, borders, or container planting, adding both structure and seasonal interest. Tolerant of a range of soil types and conditions, it thrives in well-drained soil with full sun exposure. Low-maintenance and resistant to pests, this species provides a long-lasting floral display with minimal care, combining elegance with resilience.
