Astilbe chinensis ‘Mighty Pip’ – 2026

Astilbe chinensis ‘Mighty Pip’ is a compact perennial admired for its upright plumes of bright pink flowers that bloom in midsummer above finely divided green foliage. Its feathery flower spikes add texture and charm, making it perfect for shaded borders, woodland gardens, or pondside plantings. The long-lasting blooms and attractive foliage provide continuous visual appeal, ideal for mixed perennial beds or small groupings.

Thriving in humus-rich, consistently moist soil, it prefers partial to full shade and benefits from regular watering during dry periods. Low-maintenance and reliable, ‘Mighty Pip’ requires only cutting back spent stems after flowering and occasional mulching to retain soil moisture. Its nectar-rich flowers attract pollinators, enhancing both ornamental and ecological value in shaded garden spaces.
