Bergenia ‘Abendglut’ – 2026

Bergenia ‘Abendglut’ is a hardy, evergreen perennial prized for its bold clusters of bright pink flowers that bloom from early to mid-spring, rising above large, glossy, leathery green leaves. Its dramatic flower spikes provide early-season colour, attracting bees and other pollinators, while the striking foliage adds texture and structure to borders, rockeries, or woodland gardens throughout the year. This variety is particularly valued for its robust growth habit and low-maintenance nature, making it ideal for gardeners seeking a reliable perennial that offers both floral and foliage interest. Bergenia ‘Abendglut’ also performs well in shaded or partially shaded areas, adding versatility to planting schemes.

Thriving in partial shade to full sun with moist, well-drained soil, Bergenia ‘Abendglut’ benefits from occasional removal of spent flowers and older leaves to maintain a tidy appearance. Hardy and resilient, it can tolerate a range of garden conditions and provides year-round ornamental appeal. Its combination of early blooms, attractive foliage, and wildlife-friendly flowers make it a valuable addition to perennial borders or woodland-style plantings.
