Fragaria ‘Ostara’ (A+) – 2026

Fragaria ‘Ostara’ is a vigorous, low-growing strawberry cultivar celebrated for its reliable production of large, bright red fruits with sweet flavour. The plants form dense mats of glossy green leaves and produce fragrant white flowers in spring, which develop into juicy berries from early to mid-summer. Its compact, tidy habit makes it suitable for borders, containers, or raised beds, providing both ornamental appeal and edible value.

This cultivar thrives in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil, benefiting from regular watering and feeding to ensure healthy growth and abundant fruit. It is easy to maintain, requiring only occasional removal of runners to keep plants vigorous. Its fragrant flowers attract bees and other pollinators, adding ecological value while producing a bountiful and flavoursome strawberry harvest.
