Fragaria ‘Polka’ (A+) – 2026

Fragaria ‘Polka’ is a vigorous, low-growing strawberry cultivar known for its reliable production of medium to large, bright red fruits with excellent flavour. The plants form dense mats of glossy green leaves and produce fragrant white flowers in spring that develop into juicy berries throughout early to mid-summer. Its compact habit makes it suitable for borders, containers, or raised beds, providing both ornamental appeal and edible value in the garden.

This cultivar thrives in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil, benefiting from regular watering and feeding to promote healthy growth and abundant fruiting. It is low-maintenance, requiring only occasional removal of runners to maintain vigour. Its flowers attract bees and other pollinators, offering ecological benefits while producing a dependable and flavoursome strawberry harvest.
