Geranium ‘Red Admiral’ – 2026

Geranium ‘Red Admiral’ is a striking perennial that brings vibrant colour and structure to garden borders and shaded areas. This cultivar is a hybrid between Geranium psilostemon and Geranium sylvaticum ‘Baker’s Pink’, known for its large, magenta-pink flowers with black veins and a dark centre. The plant’s deeply cut, mid-green foliage forms a mound, providing a lush backdrop that contrasts beautifully with the delicate flowers. Blooming from late spring into summer, ‘Red Admiral’ attracts pollinators and adds a bold visual impact to the garden.

Ideal for partial shade to full sun, ‘Red Admiral’ thrives in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Regular watering during dry spells and a layer of mulch can help retain soil moisture and suppress weeds. This hardy geranium is relatively low-maintenance, requiring minimal care once established. Its attractive foliage and pollinator-friendly flowers make it a valuable addition to any garden, offering both aesthetic appeal and ecological benefits.
