Hemerocallis ‘Chokecherry Mountain’ – 2026

Hemerocallis ‘Chokecherry Mountain’ is a captivating daylily cultivar renowned for its unique, dark red wine blooms featuring a dark purple chevron eye above a green throat. The flowers, which can reach up to 20 cm (8 inches) in diameter, exhibit a crispate-spatulate petal shape, giving them a distinctive, spidery appearance. This midseason bloomer, introduced by hybridizer Roberts in 2002, adds a touch of drama to any garden with its striking colour contrast and unusual form.

Beyond its visual appeal, ‘Chokecherry Mountain’ is valued for its resilience and adaptability. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and is tolerant of various soil types, including heavy clay and poorer soils. The plant is relatively low-maintenance, requiring only occasional deadheading to promote continuous blooming. Its ability to re-bloom and its attractive foliage make it a reliable and charming addition to any garden.
