Hosta 8217Ivory Coast8217 8211 2026

Hosta \’Ivory Coast\’ is a striking perennial that brings both beauty and structure to shaded garden spaces. This cultivar features large, broadly ovate, pointed leaves with a grey-green centre and a wide, irregular yellow margin that fades to white as the season progresses. The foliage forms a dense, upright mound, making it an excellent choice for borders, woodland gardens, or as a specimen plant. The wide, rippled margins add a dramatic effect, creating a bold contrast against the centre of the leaves.

In early summer, \’Ivory Coast\’ produces tall scapes adorned with loose clusters of bell-shaped, pale purple flowers that attract pollinators like bees and butterflies. This hosta thrives in moist, well-drained, organically rich soil and prefers partial to full shade, though it can tolerate some morning sun. Once established, it is relatively low-maintenance and offers excellent slug resistance due to its thick, textured leaves. \’Ivory Coast\’ is a versatile and dependable perennial that adds both visual appeal and ecological value to shaded areas.
