Hosta ‘Big Mama’ – 2026

Hosta ‘Big Mama’ is a hardy perennial admired for its enormous, textured green leaves that form a wide, mounded clump, creating a bold and dramatic presence in shaded garden areas. In midsummer, upright spikes of pale lavender flowers rise above the foliage, adding height, seasonal interest, and attracting pollinators. Its impressive size and strong habit make it ideal as a specimen plant or focal point in borders and woodland gardens.

Thriving in partial to full shade with moist, well-drained soil, ‘Big Mama’ is hardy, reliable, and low-maintenance. The ornamental foliage provides long-lasting impact throughout the growing season, while the summer blooms enhance garden biodiversity. Its combination of substantial leaf texture, robust growth, and seasonal flowers makes it a striking and versatile choice for adding structure and drama to shaded planting schemes.
