Hosta ‘Glad Tidings’ – 2026

Hosta ‘Glad Tidings’ is a medium-sized, clump-forming perennial noted for its vivid foliage and cheerful presence in shade gardens. Its thick, heart-shaped leaves emerge in a bright, neon chartreuse-green that gradually warms to golden-yellow as the season progresses. The leaves overlap at varying angles, giving the plant a somewhat informal, textured mound of foliage. Its leaf substance is thick, so it holds up well to pests such as slugs and displays good resilience even in brighter shade or light exposure.

In summer, ‘Glad Tidings’ bears upright scapes of pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers which rise above the foliage, adding height and contrast. The plant thrives in rich, moist, well-drained soil and prefers partial to full shade, though it tolerates some sunespecially morning sunwith protection from harsh midday rays. Regular watering and mulching help to preserve its foliage colour and health throughout the growing season.
