Hosta ‘Great Escape’ – 2026

Hosta ‘Great Escape’ is a compact, clump-forming perennial known for its striking blue-green foliage with wide, creamy-white margins. The thick, slightly wavy ovate leaves form a dense, rounded mound, providing texture and ornamental interest in shaded borders, woodland gardens, or containers. Its moderate growth rate and resilient foliage make it ideal for low-maintenance garden settings, and it maintains good colour contrast throughout the growing season.

In mid to late summer, ‘Great Escape’ produces upright scapes bearing pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers that rise above the foliage, adding vertical interest and attracting pollinators. It thrives in rich, moist, well-drained soil and prefers partial to full shade, though a little morning sun can enhance leaf colour. Regular watering and mulching support its vigour and maintain the vibrancy of the foliage throughout the season.
