Lysimachia clethroides – 2026

Lysimachia clethroides is a striking perennial renowned for its gracefully arching flower spikes that resemble delicate goosenecks. Throughout the summer months, these elegant white blooms provide a long-lasting display that contrasts beautifully with its rich green foliage. Its vigorous, spreading habit makes it an excellent choice for filling borders or creating a naturalised effect in larger garden spaces. This plant is not only visually appealing but also supports pollinators such as bees and butterflies, adding ecological value to any garden setting.

Thriving in moist, well-drained soils, Lysimachia clethroides prefers partial shade to full sun, adapting well to a range of garden conditions. Once established, it is hardy and low-maintenance, with its resilient growth helping to stabilise soil and create attractive ground cover. Its combination of striking flowers, lush foliage, and wildlife benefits makes it a versatile and valuable addition to British gardens.
