Papaver orientale ‘Orange Glow’ – 2026

Papaver orientale Orange Glow is a vibrant oriental poppy, admired for its large, glowing orange blooms with a contrasting dark central blotch. The cup-shaped, ruffled flowers rise on tall, sturdy stems above a clump of coarse, hairy green foliage, creating a bold and eye-catching display in early summer borders. Its striking colour and architectural form make it a standout in cottage gardens, mixed perennial beds, and larger planting schemes.

This hardy perennial thrives in well-drained soil and prefers a sunny position, returning reliably year after year. Fully suited to the UK climate, it requires minimal maintenance beyond cutting back after flowering to encourage fresh foliage. Its nectar-rich blooms attract pollinators, adding ecological value, while the dramatic, long-lasting flowers provide both ornamental and seasonal interest. Papaver orientale Orange Glow is a dependable and vibrant addition to summer garden displays.
