Papaver orientale ‘Rococo’ – 2026

Papaver orientale Rococo is a beautiful oriental poppy, admired for its large, soft coral-pink blooms with a subtle darker central blotch. The ruffled, cup-shaped flowers are carried on tall, sturdy stems above coarse, hairy green foliage, creating an elegant and eye-catching display in early summer borders. Its delicate colour and textured petals make it a standout in cottage gardens, mixed perennial beds, and smaller planting schemes where a touch of gentle colour is desired.

This hardy perennial thrives in well-drained soil and prefers a sunny position, returning reliably year after year. Fully suited to the UK climate, it requires minimal maintenance beyond cutting back after flowering to encourage fresh foliage. Its nectar-rich blooms attract pollinators, adding ecological value, while the long-lasting flowers provide both ornamental and seasonal interest. Papaver orientale Rococo combines charm, resilience, and vibrant summer colour, making it a dependable addition to any garden.
