Prunus glandulosa ‘Alba Plena’

Prunus glandulosa Alba Plena is a charming deciduous shrub valued for its double, pure white flowers that appear in early spring, creating a delicate and elegant display. Its compact, rounded habit and small, glossy green leaves make it ideal for borders, rockeries, or smaller garden spaces where spring colour is desired. The dense flowering adds ornamental interest and attracts early pollinators, enhancing the gardens ecological value.

This hardy shrub thrives in well-drained soil and prefers a sunny to partially shaded position. Fully suited to the UK climate, it requires minimal maintenance beyond light pruning after flowering to maintain shape and encourage healthy growth. Its spring display provides a bright focal point after winter, while the evergreen-like foliage adds structure until leaf fall. Prunus glandulosa Alba Plena combines early-season beauty with low maintenance, making it a reliable and decorative addition to any garden.
