Rudbeckia hirta ‘Cherry Brandy’ – 2026

Rudbeckia hirta ‘Cherry Brandy’ is a striking annual or short-lived perennial with rich, deep red daisy-like flowers surrounding dark brown central cones. Blooming from midsummer into early autumn, it creates a bold and dramatic display in borders, containers, and cottage gardens. The vibrant flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, adding ecological value while providing long-lasting ornamental appeal. Its upright stems and bushy habit make it ideal for colourful summer plantings.

It thrives in full sun with well-drained, moderately fertile soil and is low-maintenance, benefiting from occasional deadheading to encourage prolonged flowering. Non-native to the UK, it is valued for its bold flower colour, robust growth, and ability to add vibrant contrast to mixed borders or naturalistic garden schemes.
