Sedum ‘Thunderhead’ – 2026

Sedum ‘Thunderhead’, also known as Hylotelephium ‘Thunderhead’, is a clump-forming perennial valued for its fleshy, grey-green foliage and clusters of deep pink star-shaped flowers that bloom from late summer into early autumn. The upright stems rise above the compact foliage, creating a bold, textured display that adds colour and interest to borders, gravel gardens, and container plantings. Its long-lasting blooms gradually mature, providing extended seasonal appeal and visual impact.

Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, this drought-tolerant plant performs well in poor or stony conditions. The nectar-rich flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, enhancing ecological value in the garden. Low-maintenance and hardy, Sedum ‘Thunderhead’ requires occasional trimming of spent flower heads to encourage fresh growth. Its combination of attractive foliage, striking blooms, and resilience makes it a versatile and visually rewarding choice for a wide range of garden settings.
